WAITING FOR WEDNESDAY

Thankfully the market has found a temporary floor of support and we stopped the increase of rates we experienced last week.

We had some green on the screen yesterday and have lost a little bit of ground this morning. We are pretty much where we started the week this morning which is good to see some consistency.

Tomorrow is a very big deal and we will hear tomorrow afternoon at the Fed Chairs press conference which follows the Fed Statement.

We did have manufacturing come in this morning with a surprise 1% drop year over year following a .7% drop last month. That is 5 consecutive months of manufacturing decline.

We also have a 20 year bond auction coming this afternoon which could impact the markets. We are likely waiting on the results of the Fed comments tomorrow though.

ALL FANNIE CHANGES

Sometimes we forget what happens in a year and it is kind of nice to take a quick look back and make sure we did not miss anything.

There were 28 different mortgagee letters addressing changes to the Fannie Mae Sellers Guide in 2024. That is a lot folks. Honestly, I likely wrote about 90% of these and I am sure you do not recall everything I wrote.

Take a moment to look through 2024 with Fannie Mae and see if anything catches your eye. You may find something that is great to market to referral partners or potential clients.

CURSE OF THORNS

I had a realization yesterday of the true impact the thorns in my life have on me.

I was reading a parable I have read a 1,000 times as I am sure many of you reading this Jackism have read themselves. It is about the soil that we allow our seeds grown in to produce the harvest in our lives.

Our harvest is different for each one of us. How we define success is different. The end desire is the same for all of us though.

We want to produce 30, 60 and 100 times what we sow. We want the seeds or the actions in our lives to produce great things.

You have seed scattered on the sidewalk which produces no harvest as there is no soil at all to do anything with. It is a mere thought of what you can do or accomplish and it is immediately taken away. You might as well not even have started.

Then you have seed sowed in shallow ground. What you try to do starts off great and you see results and then with the slightest change in wind or direction you succumb to life and your efforts just die out. This happens a lot for folks who do not have the discipline to follow through.

The third one is where most people spend their life and never realize it. The key to this one is that you sow your seed amongst the weeds or thorns of this world. That means we live in the world and are of the world and we allow the world to impact us. The interesting part is that our success and our desires grow and they have soil for growth. We actually work really hard for years and years and years which ends up to be a lifetime.

The parable defines that we grow amongst things of this world and we yield NO GRAIN. That is the part that got to me. We spend so much time churning the machine of life and although we grow and harvest a lot the end result is no real growth at all in many areas of our lives.

The best part is it defined what the thorns and weeds were that we are trying to grow a harvest with. Let’s see if you can relate to these three things. By the way, these words came directly from Jesus so whether you believe in Him or not. He was a pretty wise dude.

Oh snap, sign me up Scotty! You could call those the three plagues of my life.

How much has those three thorns choked you out of things in your life. I think just the mere awareness of their presence and acknowledging them in my life has the ability to set us free.

Anything that has that much power over our harvest of desires and goals will absolutely cause us to yield next to no results.

The final is the seed thrown in good soil. Pure soil. That goes from harvesting nothing with the aid of thorns to producing 30, 60 or 100 times to yield a harvest we never thought was possible.

Although this harvest and this parable is talking about our walk with Christ. It can apply to anyone in any situation to help understand why a person is being held back.

Imagine if we removed, worries of the this life, deceitfulness of wealth and it’s lies of how much we covet and need it and our desires for things that really are not relevant. I think if we did then we would find some pretty amazing soil to grow and make a great life in. Whatever that means for you.
