DEATH CROSS VS GOLDEN CROSS
We are very close to experiencing a death cross on the 10 year treasury.
The death cross is a strong indicator of a long term bear market.
The golden cross is a strong indicator of a long term bull market.
As a reminder when a bear swings at you or claws at you the direction is down.
When a bull comes at you they start with their head down and then push up when attacking.
So bear is down and bull is up in market terms.
The death cross is when the long term moving average crosses and goes above the short term moving average.
The golden cross is when the long term crosses over short term going down.
See below. The blue is the 200 day moving average price for 10 yr treasury.
The black line is 50 day moving average for 10 yr treasury.
Pretty cool huh.
So, if this happens which it looks like it should this is an indicator of a long ride down for the 10 year treasury which is great for rates.
Of course zero guarantees but this is what usually happens in technical trading analysis.

THE TRICK THAT WILL CHANGE OTHERS PERCEPTION
What a perfect day to bring this up. It is the day before the last day of the month. You have loans flying all over the place and people trying to get closed and chaos rings in the world of the mortgage industry.
But guess what, those you communicate with are still the same person with the same personality and the same needs they had on the 2nd day of the month.
One of the most difficult things we can do is listen and pay attention to our clients, co-workers and especially our kids and spouses when we are busy.
Someone calls, we pick up and while they are talking we are responding to emails, researching something on the internet, reading this very article, thinking about how to handle the drama file on our desk, what’s for lunch and asking why am I on the phone with so much to do.
We call it multi-tasking but in reality you are single tasking a lot of different items. Every time you switch to a different task all other tasks are sitting in the air and one drops down and you turn to catch it and when you do the item you are working on is thrown back in the air. It is brutal and you are not good at it.
Those that think they are the best at it typically are the worst. I am pointing the finger right back at me I assure you. I am the king of not paying attention hence my passion for being where your feet are.
Practice this philosophy of Be Where Your Feet Are which means being present at whatever it is you are doing.
HERE IS A SINGLE CHALLENGE FOR YOU TODAY
When you get on the phone with ANYONE turn away from your computer or walk away from your desk or do whatever it takes so that you can fully listen to and be present in what conversation you are having.
Similarly, when someone walks in to your office or your spouse begins talking to you while you are working just turn around and listen.
Since I started writing this article my wife came in 2 times, my mom called me and a client called me. THIS IS NOT EASY! But I did it for all of them and we are all better for it.
